Discovering More About Elk Mountain Academy

Elk Mountain Academy is a therapeutic boarding school for young men from the ages of Fourteen (14) to Eighteen (18). Our first goal is to create a safe and productive environment for our students where they can optimize their recovery from drug and/or alcohol abuse via regular therapy and through involvement with the AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and/or NA (Narcotics Anonymous) program. Secondly, we strive to engage the students in a supportive, enlightening, and honest therapeutic atmosphere where they can make progress towards personal growth, change, and healing.  Finally, our academic program is designed to assure that students will not fall behind in school. Our teaching team works to provide targeted one-on-one assistance to help students achieve understanding and excel in their learning. We recognize the differences that exist from one student to the other, so we admit students on an individual basis, rather than on a “cookie-cutter” admission policy.

We have shown considerable success in helping young men overcome the following:

  • Substance Abuse
  • Familial Crisis
  • Social Disabilities
  • Low Self Esteem
  • Stuffing/Anger/Blaming/Co-dependency/Victimizations
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Behavioral Disorder
  • ODD/Conduct Disorder
  • ADD/ADHD and related clinical disorders
  • Abandonment Issues: Adoption, Divorce, Attachment
  • Depression
  • Psychosocial and environmental problems

Elk Mountain Academy is not equipped to take students with tendencies toward suicide, or who have a history of violent behavior, arson or perpetrating sexual abuse.

International Students:

Elk Mountain Academy is approved by the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and their I-20 visa for international students.
